    According to reports, Jibang consulting said that due to the impact of multiple factors such as factory shutdown, logistics congestion and insufficient production capacity of semiconductor industrial control chip manufacturing process caused by the epidemic, excluding the EUV lithography machine with fixed output every year, the delivery time of other equipment was extended by 18 to 30 months. Among them, the shortage of DUV lithography machine is the most serious, followed by CVD, PVD deposition and etching. The delivery date of semiconductor equipment is extended or the manufacturers are unable to implement the production expansion plan in time, which is delayed for 2 to 9 months.

    Recently, several Korean companies announced plans to expand production. Samsung recently announced to invest 450trillion won to expand production, of which the construction of the second wafer foundry worth 20trillion won in Taylor City, the United States, has started and is planned to be put into operation in the second half of 2024. Sk Hynix also announced that it would invest KRW 120trillion to establish a semiconductor industry cluster in South Korea and consider adding a semiconductor production line in Qingzhou.
