Toshiba introduces a new stepping motor drive IC, which helps save circuit board space

    Toshiba electronic components and memory Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") announced the launch of its stepping motor drive IC product line "tb67s549ftg". This is a stepping motor drive IC with a small package. It has a built-in constant current control function and does not need external circuit components. The new drive IC helps to save circuit board space and is suitable for industrial equipment such as office automation and financial equipment. The product starts shipping today.



    The output power transistor of tb67s549ftg adopts Toshiba DMOS FET [1], the absolute maximum rated motor output voltage is 40V, and the absolute maximum rated motor output current is 1.5A [2]. This product is packaged with qfn24. Compared with the current Toshiba product tb67s539ftg packaged with qfn32, the mounting area is reduced by about 36%. This helps to save board space.
    In addition, this new drive has built-in current detection components required for constant current motor control, and the charge pump circuit does not need external capacitors. This will reduce the number of external circuit components and thus save the space of the circuit board.
    Tb67s549ftg supports 4.5V to 33V motor supply voltage, and the current consumption in sleep mode is 1 μ A. It can be widely used in 12V / 24V power supply applications.
